Mark is dedicated to providing legal and business advisory services to entrepreneurs and owners of growing businesses.

In today’s business environment, we are constantly faced with complex, interconnected factors including entity structure and ongoing requirements, tax strategy, government requirements, investors, contracts, intellectual property, employees, leases, and technology.

Mark offers practical legal advice, strategic counsel, and business overview you would expect to receive from an in-house General Counsel, without having to add a permanent member to your management team. Collaboration is key and best of all, Mark makes it enjoyable and easy to understand.

His legal expertise has been developed over the past several decades and includes serving as a valued advisor to several startup, fast growth and established companies. In all situations, Mark was tasked with finding creative solutions to legal issues of all shapes and sizes.

Mark works to help those businesses form cooperative and strategic relationships as well as coordinating accounting, insurance, sales, marketing and human resource functions and personnel. Generally, most people don't think about the legal aspects of their business with excitement or pleasure, but it doesn't have to be that way! Mark can help you get all of your affairs in order, both personal as well as professional AND help you enjoy and understand the process.

Mark's approach is friendly and conversational with the focus remaining on you and your needs. He's thorough and will ensure that you've thought of and prepared for everything so you can rest easier and enjoy the ride.


In his spare time, Mark is involved in numerous nonprofit and community events and groups (it's how he knows EVERYONE!) He is on the board for:

Sail Beyond Cancer, a non-profit organization with a mission to provide respite sailing for cancer patients and their caregivers to relieve stress and anxiety through quality time together on the water.

Kids Rehab Gym, a fully staffed pediatric facility providing physical and occupational rehabilitation for children of all ages.

Mark is also a huge supporter of Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) and the Women Business Owner's Network (WBON).


Mark has taught informational seminars for Boots to Business, an entrepreneurial education and training program offered by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) as part of the Department of Defense’s Transition Assistance Program (TAP) as well as WBON.


Just in case that doesn't keep him busy, Mark also frequently attends various networking events with the Lake Champlain Regional Chamber of Commerce (LCRCC) and Vermont Businesses for Social Responsibility (VBSR).


Easily recognizable in a crowd for his signature hats, Mark enjoys such extracurricular activities as bird watching, golf, photography, yoga, sailing and good food and wine. He lives in South Burlington, VT with his artist wife Suzanne Clark and their feline, Lily.


Mark has over 35 years as an attorney including experience as General Counsel to:

Athena Technology – an innovative technology start up,
CityNet – a unique fiber optic installation and network company,
Long Distance North – a fast track telecommunications company

Mark managed the legal affairs of several companies; built a legal department, and helped run companies as part its management team. As a result, Mark developed an understanding of how a company can best structure its relationship with its legal counsel to get the advice it needs to flourish.

He also is the former New England Regional Counsel and Senior Regulatory Attorney for Frontier Communications. Additional business experience includes being General Manager of the telecom division of Interpath, a telecom division of Carolina Light & Power Co.
