His legal expertise has been developed over the past several decades and includes serving as a valued advisor to several startup, fast growth and established companies. In all situations, Mark was tasked with finding creative solutions to legal issues of all shapes and sizes.

GIVING BACK
In his spare time, Mark is involved in numerous nonprofit and community events and groups (it's how he knows EVERYONE!) He is on the board for:
Sail Beyond Cancer, a non-profit organization with a mission to provide respite sailing for cancer patients and their caregivers to relieve stress and anxiety through quality time together on the water.
Kids Rehab Gym, a fully staffed pediatric facility providing physical and occupational rehabilitation for children of all ages.
Mark is also a huge supporter of Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) and the Women Business Owner's Network (WBON).
Mark has taught informational seminars for Boots to Business, an entrepreneurial education and training program offered by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) as part of the Department of Defense’s Transition Assistance Program (TAP) as well as WBON.
Just in case that doesn't keep him busy, Mark also frequently attends various networking events with the Lake Champlain Regional Chamber of Commerce (LCRCC) and Vermont Businesses for Social Responsibility (VBSR).
ON A PERSONAL NOTE
Easily recognizable in a crowd for his signature hats, Mark enjoys such extracurricular activities as bird watching, golf, photography, yoga, sailing and good food and wine. He lives in South Burlington, VT with his artist wife Suzanne Clark and their feline, Lily.
EXPERIENCE
Mark has over 35 years as an attorney including experience as General Counsel to:
Athena Technology – an innovative technology start up,
CityNet – a unique fiber optic installation and network company,
Long Distance North – a fast track telecommunications company
Mark managed the legal affairs of several companies; built a legal department, and helped run companies as part its management team. As a result, Mark developed an understanding of how a company can best structure its relationship with its legal counsel to get the advice it needs to flourish.
He also is the former New England Regional Counsel and Senior Regulatory Attorney for Frontier Communications. Additional business experience includes being General Manager of the telecom division of Interpath, a telecom division of Carolina Light & Power Co.
